Florrie Purcell: The Scullery
Florrie’s business has evolved from concepts developed over her Aga as a child helping her mum to being a successful artisan producer of finest quality relishes, pickles, sauces, Christmas Puddings and cakes.
Many of Florrie’s recipes are being made to the same recipe for over four generations of Florrie’s family. The finest quality ingredients, mixed into a symphony of perfection that will bring back wonderful memories of tastes and times past. Quite simply, this is edible history.
Having qualified in Catering Management in Cathal Brugha Street, she travelled and worked her way through three continents broadening both her experience, her knowledge and appreciation of world tastes.
The Scullery is justifiably proud of the reputation it has gained as a purveyor of sauces, pickles, relishes and Christmas Plum Puddings.
They are made using exacting standards and top quality ingredients that taste absolutely divine.
From humble beginnings The Scullery recognised and cornered a niche in the marketplace, realising at the outset that the modern consumer cares deeply about the origin of their food.
Therefore, Scullery has created a range that is totally free from artificial colours, flavours, preservatives, MSG or GM ingredients.
The products that you now see are the result of trial and error by the owner, Florrie Purcell, slaving over her Aga to ensure that her products are the best they can be in taste, texture and presentation.
Today, things are somewhat different although in many ways, little has changed. The products are still created by Florrie, who remains an artisan producer under the supervision of a food technologist, in compliance with BRC, grade A.
But the sauces, pickles, relishes and Christmas Plum Puddings have still got the same genuine honest flavour that consumers yearn for.
This brand is no stranger to innovation either. From handmade individual puddings for the grab-and-go market to tasty compotes for a major porridge-to-go product, The Scullery works closely with some of the biggest food brands to come up with groundbreaking new ideas for a hungry market.
